Conflict Resolution and Mediation

At 1828, we believe that most people don’t want to stay in conflict—they just want to be heard, understood, and treated fairly. Our conflict resolution and mediation service creates space for that to happen.

Grounded in the principles of Compassionate Communication (otherwise known as Non-violance Communication), we help individuals and groups talk through difficult issues—whether that’s between neighbours, within organisations, or amongst teams who’ve lost trust. Our goal is to rebuild understanding, reduce harm, and support everyone involved to move forward with clarity and respect.

Our lead mediator is a certified member of the Society of Mediators, with a background in housing, education, and community design.

That means we understand not just the emotional dynamics, but also the everyday pressures—like shared spaces, tenancy concerns, or team tensions—that can lead to breakdowns in communication.

Mediation with 1828 is not about taking sides or forcing agreement. It’s about slowing things down, helping people feel safe enough to speak, and guiding them toward shared understanding. Whether you're resolving a local dispute or trying to mend a strained relationship, we’re here to support that conversation—with calm, empathy, and care.

Jerome Tsui is a certified member of the Society of Mediators. He brings a diverse background and sector experience across housing, education, design and architecture.
