Our Vision
Inclusion, our blueprint for change
1828 was born from a simple but powerful idea: design can transform not just buildings, but relationships, systems, and lives—when inclusion is placed at the heart of it.
Our work lives at the intersection of design, dialogue, and social change. Whether we’re reshaping a public space to make it truly accessible, supporting a board to govern with courage and clarity, or sitting quietly with individuals, communities or organisations in conflict, the thread that connects it all is our commitment to creating conditions where people can thrive—together.
We believe inclusive design is not just about physical access; it’s about emotional safety, cultural resonance, and dignity. Mediation is not just about resolving disputes; it’s about recognising unmet needs and restoring communication. And governance is not just about oversight; it’s about leading with integrity, especially when no one’s watching.
At 1828, we bring design, education, governance, mediation and inclusion practice into conversation — because change doesn’t happen in silos. It happens when we pause, listen deeply, and have the courage to reimagine how things could be.
We’re here to walk alongside those who want to do better — who know the systems we’ve inherited weren’t built for everyone, and who are ready to build something more just, more humane, and more whole.
This is our work. This is our offering. And we’re glad you’re here.
